Spain’s Abertis Infraestructuras has begun to structure a holding company to hold its six Chilean toll roads, which total 770 km and had an average adt growth of 7.8% in 2013. This holding company structure replicates how Abertis holds its Brazilian highways—in a successful Sâo Paulo-based company in which Canada’s Brookfield holds 49%. In Chile, Abertis has taken a controlling interest in the holding company that owns two of its toll roads, and is pursuing talks to buy out its partner in another company that owns two other highways.
