The U.K. Highways Agency has awarded Spain’s Abertis a seven-year £367-million (US$597 million) contract, renewable for another three years, to institute open-road tolling on the Dartford-Thurrock River Crossing, the east access to London, described as the U.K.’s busiest motorway segment.
