ACS-Acciona-Fluor Take a Major Hit

On November 1, after 20 months of construction, the design-build team of Acciona-ACS-Fluor building the Cdn$1.4-billion approach road to the DRIC bridge in Windsor, Ontario agreed to replace 500 prestressed concrete bridge girders due to the use of tack welding of rebar cages during fabrication.

Of the 500, 160 are installed with a concrete deck poured on them, 128 are installed with no deck and 212 girders are awaiting placement.
