Builder Aecon Group Inc. has left a consortium bidding on the proposed DBFOM Cdn $4-billion Gordie Howe International Bridge between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario.
But all three shortlisted consortiums met the May RFP deadline, and the Windsor Detroit Bridge Authority – the Canadian agency running the procurement – expects to name a preferred proponent in June, reach financial close in September, and start construction this year, a spokesman said.
Aecon was a partner in the Bridging North America consortium, which also includes ACS Infrastructure Canada, Fluor Canada, RBC Dominion Securities, AECOM, and others.
