The Argentine government of president Mauricio Macri and Spanish highway operator Abertis recently agreed to a 10-year extension to 2030 of a 1994 concession of Buenos Aires’s principal toll highway, Autopistas del Sol (Ausol). The agreement ends years of contentious discussions over the government’s freeze of toll charges on the highway. Ausol, a 93-km multilane expressway, provides the principal northern access to the Argentine capital city.
