Bogotá Rolls Out $4-Billion Elevated Rail P3

Amid a US$20-billion frenzy of metro projects and expansion works in South American capitals, the rollout of Bogota’s metro project is singular. A P3 is driving the nation’s single largest infrastructure project, a US$4.347-billion elevated metro line, the city’s first metro line.

Empresa Metro de Bogotá (MdB) was set up by Bogota’s City Council as a municipal entity to host the project. An international presentation of the project in London, attended by infrastructure developers, bankers, investors, and rolling stock fabricators, and briefings in Bogota thru May, drew 62 expressions of interest from international and local firms.
