Brent Spence: Off To The Races

At press time, it appeared possible that Kentucky may finally pass an enabling law for P3 development of the $2.7-billion (DB) Brent Spence Bridge replacement between Cincinnati, Ohio, and Covington, Ky.

However, given the complexities of identifying funding, setting up a bistate commission, and the virulent anti-toll sentiment in the Kentucky legislature, it’s unlikely at this point that the project will attract the interest of DBFOM developers, says one, who figured he’d rather do his betting at the Derby.
