California Gas Tax Crisis

A steep drop in gas tax revenues has led the California Transportation Commission (CTC) staff to recommend that no new projects be funded for the next five years, that some programmed projects be cancelled and others delayed. The 2016 Amended five-year STIP Fund Estimate shows a statewide new programming capacity of negative $754 million. The full commission will vote on the recommendation in late May.
