Canada: Nova Scotia Schools

Nova Scotia has ended its P3 schools venture by buying 10 more schools from the concessionaires for Cdn $49.3 million, raising the total number purchased to 37 for a total of Cdn $215.9 million. Two of the original 39 leased schools were left with the concessionaires, Nova Learning and Ashford Investments. As the 20-year deal signed in 1998 ran out, the government had the option of buying the buildings, extending the leases, or leaving the schools.
