Canadian Arctic Airport P3 Draws Top Competitors

Three world-class P3 teams have been shortlisted to develop proposals for the Iqaluit airport expansion project in Canada’s High Arctic. The government of Nunavut—Iqaluit is the capital—shortlisted the teams for the Cdn $300-million (capital cost) DBOM and partly finance project just two months after the RFQ closed, and it expects to award a contract in early 2013. Finalists are:

• The Arctic Infrastructure Project team, headed by UK fund manger InfraRed Capital Partners, includes Bouygues Canada, Colas Canada and the Winnipeg Airports Authority.

• Mittarvik (airport in Inuit) includes Bilfinger Berger, Kiewit, Bird Capital and the Halifax International Airport Authority.

• Plenary includes Plenary Infrastructure, PCL Constructors Northern, and Edmonton Airports.
