Carlyle Hit by Synagro’s Demise

One of Carlyle Group’s earliest infrastructure investments, the acquisition in 2007 of municipal sludge handling giant Synagro, has gone bust. A $455-million offer by a Swedish investment fund, EQT Infrastructure, is being reviewed by a bankruptcy judge in Delaware.
