Espirito Santo Bank’s Ascendi Road Portfolio For Sale

A mandated disposal of P3 assets held in the portfolio of Portugal’s stricken Banco Espirito Santo (BES) bank has turned the spotlight on the sale of BES’s 40% interest in the highway holding firm Ascendi Group. Ascendi owns stakes in 3,000 km of roads in Portugal, Spain, Brazil and Mexico valued at some Euro 850 million (US$1.1 billion).
