Fort Bliss Solar PPP A First

The Army in early April agreed to partner with El Paso Electric to develop a 20-Mw solar farm at Fort Bliss, Texas, making it the military’s largest renewable project to date and the first between the military and a major local utility.

The $120-million project will cover 200 acres of Army land and power the headquarters for the 1st Armored Division and much of the eastern portion of the installation.
