Recently, Joe Aiello, of Meridiam Infrastructure, and Eric Petersen, of Hawkins, Delafield and Wood, met with senior public officials in New Jersey to explain how a state P3 agency could procure higher education facilities under a DBFOM procurement model. Public Works Financing editor Bill Reinhardt, a resident of Westfield, N.J., initiated and facilitated the meetings. Legislation supporting P3s was introduced, and passed by the legislature in late June, and now awaits Gov. Chris Christie’s signature (PWF 6/12, p. 12).
