Odebrecht Water Unit Wins in Brazil

An Odebrecht consortium led by its water unit Foz de Brasil will provide sanitation services to four municipalities in the Brazilian state of Goiás.  The four have a combined population of 900,000 and joined together to improve the economics of the deal. The consortium Centro-Oeste outbid its rivals with a winning upfront fee bid of Reais 273 million (US$125 million) for a 30-year O&M contract. Equipav, a local competitor, and France’s Suez Spanish unit Agbar also bid.
