Odebrecht Wins Peru Irrigation P3

A consortium of Brazil’s Odebrecht and Graña y Montero is Peru’s preferred bidder for an estimated US$591-million P3 deal to irrigate 63,000-hectares of new land to grow export crops and improve irrigation on another 43,000 hectares. Heading the Río Santa-Chavimochic consortium, Odebrecht submitted the winning offer with the lowest annual fee for recovery of its US$373.8-million investment in Proyecto Chavimochic III. The project includes a water storage dam, water conduction and capturing systems, and surface topping with cement 31-km of water channels including the banks of the Virú River.
