Partnerships BC Shrinks To Fit

Canada’s first P3 agency is shrinking as the British Columbia government reduces its capital spending and changes Partnership B.C.’s mandate. The agency will lose about a third of its 42 full-time equivalent positions by the time the current fiscal year ends in March 2015 as capital spending trends down from Cdn $4 billion this year to Cdn $3.2 billion by fiscal 2016-17.

The agency is a trailblazer that has done more than 40 projects with an investment value of more than Cdn $17 billion since 2002. A joint industry-government steering committee which recommended changes, all of which the government has adopted.
