Second Try For Nassau County, NY, Wastewater Lease

Nassau County, NY is again considering a long-term lease of its wastewater assets to a third party, after having shelved the idea in the wake of Superstorm Sandy in 2012.

The county legislature has approved a competitively bid contract with KPMG as financial advisor, but still needs a signoff from the Nassau Interim Finance Authority (NIFA), a state agency created to oversee county business. Meetings with NIFA began in late July.
