Spanish-Led Team Wins Egypt Water

Egypt has named an international team led by Spain’s FCC Aqualia as preferred bidder for a wastewater treatment plant with a planned cost of Epounds 5 billion (500 million euros) (US$636.3 million). The Abu Rawash plant will serve 5.5 million inhabitants of Cairo. The project has been held up for years by political upheaval, and is one of the largest PPP deals in Egypt.
