The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) said it received qualification statements from three teams on March 2 for a design-build contract to widen Interstate 64 at the High Rise Bridge and Tunnel (HRBT) from two to four lanes, and adding another bridge-tunnel. It’s expected to cost between $3.3 billion and $3.8 billion.
