In a recent staff memo, Walter Waidelich, FHWA’s new Executive Director, said the Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Joint Program Office (TIFIA/JPO) will currently remain a part of the Office of Innovative Project Delivery within FHWA. “Where the TIFIA JPO is organizationally located within [US DOT] is part of the discussion being held as the National Surface Transportation and Innovative Finance Bureau is created,” he wrote. DOT Secretary Anthony Foxx recently told Congress that office space for the Bureau would be set up soon in the Office of the Secretary of Transportation, and an executive director would be appointed before year-end.
