Traffic Risk Sinks Melbourne’s M7 Toll Road

Scuppered by lower than forecast toll revenues, the Australian concessionaire of Brisbane’s 6.7-km-long AirportlinkM7 highway, BrisConnections, recently gave up attempts to renegotiate bank loans and went into receivership. Meanwhile, Melbourne’s toll-free, availability-pay Peninsula Link appeared to be doing great business within weeks of opening in the middle of January, with drivers even complaining of traffic congestion.
