Waterloo, Ontario Starts Light-Rail Bidding

In October, Ontario’s regional government of Waterloo asked for bidder qualifcations by Nov. 23 for an estimated Cdn $820-million, DBFOM light rail line, including equipment, as  the start of a new transit system to serve the fast-growing regional municipality about 60 miles west of Toronto.

A shortlist is expected in February 2013, with a preferred proponent named in early 2014.
