White House To Put NEPA Streamlining In New Infrastructure Center (3/14)

The Federal Infrastructure Projects Permitting Dashboard, created in 2012 to coordinate and speed environmental permitting, will be expanded under a new White House initiative expected to be announced in the next few weeks. Fifty projects have been expedited in the past two years. That will increase as additional staff and broader goals are set for a new White House Infrastructure Center.

Acting Deputy Transportation Secretary Victor Mendez, who conceived and implemented the highly regarded “Everyday Counts” program for highway projects at FHWA, will run the center, PWF has been told.
